MN United loses in final game at TCF Bank Stadium; announces a record crowd

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (October 21, 2018) —  In their final game at TCF Bank Stadium, Minnesota United announced a new record for a Minnesota soccer game of 52,242,  although the actual number of fans in the building was 15 to 20 thousand less than the announced crowd. TCF Bank Stadium  has been the team’s home for the last two years, and they closed out their stint there before opening Allianz Field in 2019 with a 3-1 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy. MN United eliminated from US Open Cup

HOUSTON, Tex., (June 18, 2018) — With a trip to the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals on the line, Minnesota United failed to take advantage of its plethora of opportunities — including a late penalty kick — and was knocked out of the tournament by the Houston Dynamo, 1-0, in Monday’s Round of 16 match. LOS ANGELES, Calif., (May 10, 2018) — With its second match this week and another to come on Saturday — plus a forearm-length list of injuries — Minnesota United found itself pressed to try something a little different when the team arrived at Banc of California Stadium to face expansion side LAFC. Instead of their customary 4-2-3-1 formation, the Loons rolled out in a 4-3-3.
