Towns named to NBA All-Star game

Minneapolis/St. Paul – Timberwolves forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns today was named a Western Conference All-Star by the National Basketball Association. Towns was named to the team as a reserve via balloting by NBA head coaches for the second straight year. Over the years, seven Wolves players have earned NBA All-Star honors: Tom Gugliotta, Kevin Garnett, Wally Szczerbiak, Sam Cassell, Kevin Love, Jimmy Butler and Towns. Timberwolves Sign Guard Isaiah Canaan to 10-Day Contract

Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has signed guard Isaiah Canaan to a 10-day contract. Canaan, 27, played in 19 games (15 starts) for the Phoenix Suns this season, averaging 7.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 26.5 minutes per game before being waived on November 28. He also played in 19 games with the Suns during the 2017-18 season. Josh Okogie to be in Rising Stars All-Star game

Minnesota Timberwolves Guard Josh Okogie will be part of the “World” team taking part in the 2019 Rising Stars game as Part of 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend Over 42 games in his rookie season, Okogie holds averages of 7.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.9 steals in 22.1 minutes per contest. Timberwolves Hire Jerry Sichting as Assistant Coach

Minneapolis-St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has hired Jerry Sichting as Assistant Coach. This marks Sichting’s third stint with the Wolves after initially spending 10 years with the organization from 1995-2005 and two seasons from 2007-09. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Sichting began his career with the Timberwolves in 1995 as Director of Scouting and Player Development. He then became an Assistant Coach under Flip Saunders when Saunders took over the team during the 1995-96 season and remained in that role until 2005. Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has acquired forward Robert Covington, forward Dario Šarić (DAH-ree-oh SHAH-ritch), guard Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round draft pick from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for forward Jimmy Butler and center Justin Patton.
