The Wolves acquired McDaniels from the Oklahoma City Thunder along with Ricky Rubio in exchange for the draft rights to No. 17 overall pick Aleksej Pokuševski and forward James Johnson. Former Minnesota Timberwolves great Kevin Garnett has been elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Garnett, who was originally drafted by the Wolves in 1995 headlines a group that includes Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan. Ironically, Garnett goes into the Hall even before his number has been retired by the Wolves. Wolves owner Glen Taylor’s rocky relationship with Garnett has led to the delay in the honor for a franchise that has had so few high points.
