Twins recall Royce Lewis from St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled infielder Royce Lewis from Triple-A St. Paul. Lewis, who was optioned from Minnesota on May 18, played in 10 games for the Saints recently (May 19-28), hitting .318 (14-for-44) with one double, two home runs, three RBI, eight runs scored and an .825 OPS. Over those 10 games, Lewis appeared at shortstop (4 games), third base (2 games), leftfield (2 games), centerfield (1 game) and designated hitter (1 game). MN United snaps Seattle win streak

SAINT PAUL, Minn. (July 18, 2021) — Minnesota United came into Sunday afternoon’s scrap with the Seattle Sounders looking to take a little revenge for a pair of defeats, namely their 4-0 season opening loss and their 3-2 loss in the Western Conference Final last season, both in Seattle. Gopher baseball loses to Rutgers

MINNEAPOLIS – The Gopher Baseball team dropped their second game of the 2021 season on Saturday evening, falling to Rutgers by a score of 16-1. The Scarlet Knights pushed four runs across early in the game, as Rutgers left fielder Evan Sleight delivered a grand slam to straightaway left field. It did not take the Maroon & Gold long to answer back, however, as Zack Raabe launched a solo home run of his own in the bottom half of the opening frame to bring the score to 4-1. Wolves fire Saunders; hire Toronto assistant Chris Finch

Minneapolis/St. Paul – Minnesota Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas tonight announced the team has fired Ryan Saunders as Head Coach, effective immediately. Gophers’ Ibrahim named 3rd Team All-American by AP

University of Minnesota running back Mohamed Ibrahim was named Third Team All-America by the Associated Press today. He is also the first Gopher running back to be named an AP All-American since Laurence Maroney was slotted on the Third Team in 2005. Ibrahim is the third Gopher to be named an All-American by the AP in the last two seasons. BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — In alignment with Executive Order 20-103 announced today by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Minnesota State High School League will begin in-person practice for winter sports and activities on Mon., Jan. 4, 2021. Thirteen days ago, the League’s Board of Directors approved a flexible scheduling model, presented by the Return to Participation Task Force, which will adapt to the new Executive Order.
