Saints advance to American Association Championship Series

For the first time since 2011, the St. Paul Saints have advanced to the American Association Championship Series.  St. Paul moves on after posting a 1-0 win over Gary-SouthShore on Saturday, winning the North Division series three games to one. It was everything one would expect a playoff clinching game would be and then some.  A well-pitched game, a single run that proved to be the difference and when it was all said and done the Saints defeated the Gary SouthShore RailCats 1-0. Saints close out homestand with 5-1 win

Ryan Zimmerman allowed just one run in 7 innings of work and Vinny Nittoli pitched two shutout innings in relief as the Saints beat Wichita 5-1 at CHS Field Thursday night. The win was the second in as many nights for the Saints over the South division leading Wingnuts and helped keep their fading wild card hopes alive.  The Saints’ Mitch Delfino’s fourth inning triple to right field snapped a scoreless tie scoring Nate Hanson.
