Lynx to retire Whalen’s jersey #13

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced the franchise will retire Lindsay Whalen’s number 13 on Saturday, June 8 when the Lynx host the Los Angeles Sparks at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC. Whalen announced her retirement last August after completing her illustrious 15-year WNBA career, which included nine seasons and four WNBA Championships with Minnesota. Lynx take Napheesa Collier with the Sixth Overall Pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx tonight selected Napheesa Collier from the University of Connecticut with the sixth overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft. The number six pick is the team’s highest selection since the Lynx selected Devereaux Peters with the third overall pick in the 2012 draft. Collier, a 6-2 forward, put together her best season at UCONN, setting career-highs in almost every category as a senior. Lynx Sign Head Coach Cheryl Reeve to Multi-Year Contract Extension

The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has signed Head Coach Cheryl Reeve to a multi-year contract extension. Reeve has also assumed the role of General Manager and has announced the following updates to the team’s basketball operations staff for the 2018 season: Clare Duwelius has been promoted to Assistant General Manager while Assistant Coaches Shelley Patterson and Walt Hopkins have agreed to multi-year contract extensions.
