Twins claim 1B CJ Cron off waivers

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have claimed first baseman C.J. Cron off waivers from Tampa Bay. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Cron played in 140 games for the Rays last season, hitting .253 (127-for-501) with 28 doubles, 30 home runs, 74 RBI and a .323 on-base percentage.  He was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the first round (17th overall) of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft from the University of Utah.  The Fullerton, California native has played parts of five seasons in the major leagues with the Angels and Rays, hitting .260 (485-for-1867) with … Continue reading Twins claim 1B CJ Cron off waivers

The Vikings’ offense turned the ball over 3 times, including a 4th quarter interception that the Bears Eddie Jackson turned into a 27 yard touchdown enroute to a 25-20 Bears win. The victory puts the Bears at 7-3, while the Vikings fell to 5-4-1 with six games remaining. The two teams will meet again on the last day of the regular season in Minneapolis. Wolves make Butler trade official

Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has acquired forward Robert Covington, forward Dario Šarić (DAH-ree-oh SHAH-ritch), guard Jerryd Bayless and a 2022 second-round draft pick from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for forward Jimmy Butler and center Justin Patton. Covington, 27, has appeared in 304 career games (258 starts) with Houston and Philadelphia, recording averages of 12.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 35.9% from the three-point line.
