Game Notes: Wolves lose in Toronto 112-105

After tonight’s loss the Wolves are 2-3, while continuing their road drought for the 2018-19 season.

In his second career start, Josh Okogie recorded his first double-double of his career with 10 points and 11 rebounds. He is the fourth Wolves rookie guard to register a point/rebound double-double in franchise history. Coming into tonight, Okogie had just nine rebounds in his two career games. He has now scored in double-digits in two straight games.

  • Minnesota ended the game with 15 made three-pointers, setting a season-high after surpassing its previous mark of 14 set in Dallas on Oct. 20.
  • The Wolves hit their 15 triples on 15-of-30 shooting, marking the second time this season Minnesota has shot 50% or better from behind the arc (14-of-27, 51.9% vs. Cleveland on Oct. 19).
  • Jimmy Butler finished the game with six steals, matching his career high (MR: Nov. 9, 2016 in Atlanta). With 23 points, he led the Wolves in scoring for the second straight game and recorded his fourth game hitting 20+ points. Butler shot 7-of-13 from the field; he has now shot 50% or better in three of the four games he has played this season.  
  • Derrick Rose was Minnesota’s second leading scorer with 16 points coming off the bench. He also dished out five assists. He has now scored in double figures in four consecutive games.
  • Taj Gibson added 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting, tallying his fifth consecutive game shooting above 50% from the field.
  • Anthony Tolliver contributed 11 points for the Wolves, including going 2-of-5 from the three-point line. His 11 points tie his season-high (Oct. 19 vs. Cleveland).
  • The Wolves had seven players score in double-digits, marking the second time this season that this has occurred (Oct. 19 vs. Cleveland).

 

Raptors Notes

  • Kawhi Leonard cashed in a season-high 35 points on 15-of-23 shooting. Tonight marks his fourth game scoring 20+ points and his second game scoring 30+.
  • Kyle Lowry recorded his third double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 assists. In an all-around game, Lowry grabbed six rebounds and notched four steals, matching his season total for steals entering the night.
