In a shocking move today, the Minnesota Twins finalized their opening day roster by announcing that Byung Ho Park, the Korean import who struggled at the Major League level last year, has been sent to AAA Rochester to start the season. Park has been the Twins offensive leader in Spring Training this year whacking 6 homeruns while hitting .353.
Park was removed from the Twins 40-man roster in early February. In order for him to be placed back on the roster the Twins would have needed to take another player off, which they were not willing to do.
The Twins open the regular season on Monday at home against the Kansas City Royals. They will begin with 12 position players and 13 pitchers, leaving manager Paul Molitor with just 3 players on his bench.
