Reed Boltman resigns as Edina’s football coach

Longtime Edina High School football coach Reed Boltman has resigned. Boltman has been the Hornets head coach for the past 8 years and has been on the team’s coaching staff for 17 years. Vikings headed back to London in 2017

Eden Prairie, MN (December 13, 2016) – As part of the NFL’s London Games, the Minnesota Vikings will return to the United Kingdom in 2017, this time to face the Cleveland Browns in Twickenham Stadium. The Vikings will participate as the visiting team in one of four total games set to take place in London next season, the first in which the NFL will play half of a home schedule of regular season games in the UK capital. Twins, Padres swing minor trade

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have made a trade following the Rule 5 draft. The Twins traded right-handed pitcher Miguel Diaz, whom they selected first overall in the Rule 5 draft, to the San Diego Padres in exchange for right-handed pitcherJustin Haley and a player to be named later or cash considerations. Haley was selected eighth overall in the Rule 5 draft by the Los Angeles Angels (from the Boston Red Sox organization) and later acquired by the Padres. Gophers’ Sheehy named Big 10 Second Star

Gopher Men’s Hockey sophomore forward Tyler Sheehy has been named the Big Ten Second Star of the Week following Minnesota’s conference split with nationally ranked Ohio State at Mariucci Arena.   A native of Burnsville, Minn., Sheehy led all Big Ten players and tied for the NCAA lead with four goals last week while his five points were also tied for most among conference skaters.
