Loadholt to retire from NFL

Eden Prairie, MN (July 25, 2016) – The Minnesota Vikings have placed T Phil Loadholt on the Reserve/Retired List after being informed of his decision to retire from the NFL.   Loadholt played 7 seasons for the Vikings after being selected in the 2nd round (54th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft. Vargas recalled; Plouffe headed to DL

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed third basemanTrevor Plouffe on the 15-day disabled list (retro to July 2) with a fractured left rib, an injury he suffered in the eighth inning June 29 at Chicago. To replace Plouffe on the 25-man roster the Twins have recalled infielder Kennys Vargas from Triple-A Rochester.  Vargas hit .235 (67-for-285) with 13 doubles, one triple, 14 home runs and 53 RBI in 82 games for the Red Wings this season.
