Twins agree to one year deal with Plouffe

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have agreed to terms with third baseman Trevor Plouffe on a one-year contract, worth $7,250,000 in 2016.  The Twins have now agreed to terms with all six of their arbitration eligible players. Plouffe, who was originally drafted by the Twins in the first round (20th overall) of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft, set single season highs last year in hits (140), RBI (86), runs scored (74), games (152), at-bats (573) and triples (4).  Additionally, Plouffe’s .972 fielding percentage ranked third among major league third basemen last season. Vikes Everson Griffen named to Pro Bowl

Eden Prairie, MN (January 14, 2016) – Minnesota Vikings DE Everson Griffen has been named to his first career Pro Bowl after notching his second consecutive season of double-digit sacks. Griffen finished tied for fourth in the NFC and 12th in the NFL with 10.5 sacks this season.   To go along with his team-high 10.5 sacks, Griffen notched 44 tackles (34 solo), 4 PDs, 30 QBHs, 14 TFLs and 1 FF. Despite 35 points by Andrew Wiggins, the Timberwolves were pounded by the Cavs Friday night at Target Center 125-99. Cleveland was led by JR Smith with 27 points. LeBron James finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Former Timberwolf Kevin Love chipped in 20 points for the Cavs who won their 7th straight game.
